Dal 19 al 26 maggio sarà la settimana europea dei test HIV ed epatiti

From May 19 to 26, the whole of Europe mobilizes with the European Testing Week (ETW) to raise awareness among populations about the importance of getting tested for HIV, viral hepatitis, and other sexually transmitted infections (STIs). Test, Treat, Prevent: “Test, Treat, Prevent” is the slogan of this vast and collective initiative, which is one of the most important global mobilizations for public health.

Convened by EUROtest initiatives, the ETW takes place twice a year and involves over fifty countries, part of the WHO European region, joining efforts to offer as many people as possible access to anonymous and free testing and to raise awareness about the importance of early diagnosis. The aim of the mobilization is also to urge institutions to multiply the availability of tests, removing barriers that hinder wider use (lack of anonymity, hostile and judgmental environments, discrimination, bureaucracy, costs, etc.). Hundreds of public and private health service entities, associations, and communities support and participate in the initiative.

CAMA and LILA in Bari will also participate in this edition of the ETW, strengthening the offering of their testing services, which are active throughout the year. Our associations will offer rapid, anonymous, and free tests, either saliva or blood spot, for HIV and HCV.
