FASANO (BR) – The weekend of June 19 and 20, 2026, marks the most glorious and awaited moment of the year for the Fasano community: "La Scamiciata" returns, the monumental historical reenactment that takes the city on a time journey spanning 350 years. An extraordinary weekend to celebrate the legendary victory over Saracen pirates in 1678, featuring solemn ceremonies filled with pathos, sumptuous period costumes, ladies, knights, and armed men.

An unmissable event for tourists, families, and history enthusiasts who wish to immerse themselves in the proudest and most authentic soul of Apulia.

🔑 **Friday, June 19: The Suggestive Ceremony of the Key Handing Over**
The celebrations begin with a moment of deep symbolic and emotional significance, where the past embraces the present:

The Parade (6:30 PM): A historical parade composed of nobles, flag throwers, and commoners will set off from Viale della Resistenza, bringing the atmosphere and colors of the 17th century through the streets of the contemporary city.

The Ceremony in the Square: The parade will reach Piazza Ciaia, the setting for the solemn rite in which the municipal administration symbolically entrusts the Keys of the City to the participants, in memory of the people who defended their territory. After this, the parade will continue the celebrations winding through the streets of the town center.

The Saturday in Fasano transforms into the beating heart of the event, where the stones of the ancient city come alive in a legendary parade:

The Departure (6:30 PM): The grand river of colors will begin from Viale della Resistenza. A journey marked by the rhythm of drums, the sound of trumpets, and the flight of banners dancing in the wind.

The Triumph of History: Among period uniforms, the pride of the armed and noble riders, the parade will be preceded by captivating folk dances and accompanied by the unmissable and iconic Boat of Triumph, symbolizing the freedom won. The procession will wind through the city’s streets and then triumphantly converge in Piazza Ciaia.
