Fire of Georgia - Royal National Ballet of Georgia

The Royal National Ballet of Georgia comes to the Teatro Team on December 10, 2026 with a spectacular show that has already won the hearts of audiences around the world and is now ready to set Bari’s audience alight!

Colchis, the land of the myth of Medea and Jason, now known as Georgia, comes to life through the extraordinary performances of the ensemble directed by Gela Potskhishvili and Maia Kiknadze.

The show presents a vibrant mosaic, with every step, movement, and costume telling the story of Georgia’s different regions. Some of the dances date back to the 8th century BC and, despite their ancient origins, retain such dynamism and modernity that they have inspired some of today’s most famous pop stars.

The battle dances, in which swords clash in a whirlwind of sparks, alternate with dances featuring elegant movements that evoke the myths and legends of this ancient land.

Artistic directors Gela Potskhishvili and Maia Kiknadze belong to the celebrated Georgian Potskhishvili dance family, which has preserved and revitalized Georgia’s ancient choreographic tradition for over 60 years. The youngest member of the Potskhishvili dynasty, Giorgi, who grew up among the ranks of the Royal National Ballet of Georgia, was recently promoted—at just twenty-two—to principal dancer of the Dutch National Ballet.
