Soffi Armonici al FOS, con Mariani e Di Chiara

Exceptional duo for the Salento Organ Festival, Sunday, November 17 in Spongano at the Church of San Giorgio Martire (at 6:30 PM), featuring Antonio Mariani on trumpet and Leonardo Antonio Di Chiara on the 1860 De Micheli organ (restored by Tollari in 2013).

Now in its tenth edition, the FOS aims to rediscover and enhance the ancient organs of Terra d'Otranto by featuring them in solo performances or with other instruments. In Spongano (free entry), the unique duo will allow audiences to appreciate the beauty and interpretative quality of the trumpet and organ with a program titled "Harmonic Breaths. Dialogues between Eras," featuring transcriptions for the two instruments by Leonardo A. Di Chiara. The program includes the Overture to "Music for the Royal Fireworks" by Handel, Sonata No. 4 in F Major by Lucchesi, Prayer composed by Di Chiara in 2020, Ave Maria by Prizeman, Prince of Denmark's March by Clarke, and other musical pieces transcribed for the duo, including a tribute to Giacomo Puccini, on the centenary of his death. On this occasion, the Three Verses in F Major for organ will be performed.

First Trumpet of the ICO Tito Schipa Orchestra of Lecce, the Lecce and Salento Symphony Orchestra, and currently of the Lecce Philharmonic Orchestra, Maestro Antonio Mariani has a long career as a trumpet soloist and is frequently invited to perform in Italy and abroad. Mariani will perform with organist Leonardo Antonio Di Chiara, originally from Foggia but adopted by the Salento, currently the principal organist of the choir of the Diocese of Ugento. A concert artist and composer, Di Chiara pays special attention to composing, favoring the expressive dimension of music in a free and immediate language.
