On Saturday, February 8, at 6:30 PM, at L’Eccezione – Culture and Show of Puglia Teatro, in Bari, at Via Indipendenza 75, for the 50th artistic season of Puglia Teatro and the 23rd of L’Eccezione, under the patronage of the Ministry of Culture and with the artistic direction of Rino Bizzarro, Franco Enriquez Prize, the second event of the new cycle of encounter-shows: “Drums of Peace – Voices from Other Worlds,” curated by Domi Calabrese.

The second meeting of this cycle is dedicated to “Movements of Non-Violence – Practices of Peace,” featuring an intervention by Nicola Colaianni.

The Nonviolent Movement works towards the exclusion of individual and group violence in every aspect of social life, on a local, national, and international level, and aims for the dismantling of the power structures that draw strength from the spirit of violence. Through these means, the Movement pursues the creation of a classless global community that promotes the free development of each individual in harmony with the well-being of all.

The peace movement in our country has its roots in the post-World War II period in Article 11 of the constitution: “Italy repudiates war as an instrument of aggression against the freedom of other peoples and as a means of resolving international disputes.”

Nicola Colaianni, former magistrate of the Court of Cassation, professor at the University of Bari, deputy of the XI legislature, national executive member of the "Committees for the Constitution" founded by G. Dossetti, is an author of 250 scientific publications, and an advocate for active citizenship promotion.
