Basket e solidarietà a Mesagne: il 25 ottobre in campo per dire End Polio Now

At the **“Falcone” Gym**, a friendly basketball game organized by the **Rotary Club Brindisi Appia Antica** during Prevention Month, in support of the global campaign against polio

Sport as a means of raising awareness about a worldwide challenge. **On Sunday, October 25, 2026, from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m., the “Falcone” Gym in Mesagne** will host a friendly basketball game promoted by the **Rotary Club Brindisi Appia Antica, chaired this Rotary year by Daniela Monittola**, as part of the “End Polio Now” project, the longstanding campaign of **Rotary International to eradicate polio worldwide.**

The initiative takes place during Prevention Month, a period dedicated to reminding citizens of the importance of protecting their health. Prevention and vaccination are at the heart of the fight against polio, and the event aims to emphasize that health goals can be achieved through everyone’s commitment.

Taking to the court will be the Mesagne team “Last Bullets,” the ASL Brindisi representative team, and the Friends of Rotary. It will be a sporting event bringing together different local groups, united by their desire to support a global health objective.

The morning will begin with a presentation of the “End Polio Now” project and institutional greetings, followed by the friendly game.

“End Polio Now” is one of Rotary International’s best-known campaigns. For decades, Rotary has been committed to the effort to rid the world of polio. The event in Mesagne aims to bring this issue to the attention of the community through the values of sport: participation, fair play, and team spirit.
