Friday, November 6, 2026, the Alberto Peruzzo Foundation will officially reopen the doors of its exhibition venue in the former Church of Sant’Agnese, welcoming the public to a new presentation devoted to the most recent acquisitions enriching its modern and contemporary art collection.
Installed in the Sacristy, the presentation brings together new acquisitions and historic works from the collection. Paintings and sculptures by artists including Afro Basaldella, Max Ernst, Marc Chagall, Giorgio de Chirico, Mimmo Paladino, Hermann Nitsch, Karel Appel, Arcangelo Sassolino, Alberto Garutti, Jannis Kounellis, and Carl Andre convey the richness and evolution of the collection. Among the new additions is *Una tira l’altra* by Giorgio Laveri, an enamelled ceramic sculpture that reinterprets the form of a cherry. It is displayed alongside *Form in an Estuary* by Graham Sutherland, an oil painting on canvas that enters into dialogue with another work by the artist already in the collection. Finally, the guest of honor is *Double Hone Sun*, a work by Salvatore Scarpitta that enriches the presentation through the strength of its presence.
The opening marks the beginning of a new exhibition season and also represents an opportunity to share the direction undertaken by the Foundation, which is increasingly focused on consolidating its institutional identity and developing a cultural project capable of broadening its dialogue with the local area and with the national and international art scene.
During this period, Spazio Sant’Agnese will be open from Thursday to Saturday, exclusively by reservation and as part of guided tours lasting approximately 45 minutes, taking place at 11:00 a.m., 1:00 p.m., 3:00 p.m., and 5:00 p.m. Additional special openings are scheduled for November 29, December 8, and December 21, 22, and 23. Booking is mandatory and can be made through Eventbrite.
## A GROWING COLLECTION, AN EVOLVING VISION
Founded in 2015 by entrepreneur and collector Alberto Peruzzo, who serves as its president, the Foundation was established with the aim of investing in culture through initiatives that combine an entrepreneurial vision with cultural responsibility. Its activities focus on the enhancement and restoration of architectural heritage and on the promotion of modern and contemporary art through the collection and the initiatives connected to it.
Begun in the 1980s and continually expanding, the collection now comprises nearly 200 works. The result of a collecting passion developed over time and of a genuine spirit of patronage, it represents a means of making art accessible to the public and fostering new opportunities for encounter, knowledge, and participation.
Continuing along this path of growth and enhancement, the Foundation is already looking ahead to spring 2027, when it will present an exhibition centered on new acquisitions by Anselm Kiefer, one of the most significant figures in the international contemporary art scene, offering the public an opportunity to engage with central figures in contemporary artistic research.
The Foundation is now preparing to enter a new phase in its development. At the heart of this evolution is an expansion of its dialogue with institutions, curators, scholars, artists, and the public, together with the strengthening of its lending, exchange, and scholarly research activities.
A significant step will be the establishment of its first Scientific Committee, made up of distinguished figures from the national and international cultural scene. The Committee will help strengthen the Foundation’s scholarly and curatorial research, supporting the development of its projects and its gradual institutionalization.
## PALAZZO LANZA: A NEW CENTER FOR ART AND CULTURE
It is within this perspective that the acquisition of Palazzo Lanza takes place. This monumental nineteenth-century building will join the Sant’Agnese venue beginning at the end of 2027. The decision responds to the need to expand the spaces devoted to the collection while also developing a broad program of cultural and exhibition activities aimed at the local area and open to national and international collaborations.
With its 2,500 square meters, Palazzo Lanza stands out for the elegance of its interior and exterior spaces and for its frescoes by Giovanni Min.
The building is currently undergoing a major restoration and renovation project, which will enable it to be returned to the city and enhanced as a new site for cultural production and exchange.
This undertaking complements the restoration and renovation project begun with the former Church of Sant’Agnese, made possible through the Foundation’s investment and recently awarded a special mention at the 2026 IN/ARCHITECTURE Award for the Triveneto region.
With Palazzo Lanza, the Alberto Peruzzo Foundation intends to take a further step toward creating a cultural center capable of hosting and enhancing the entire collection, expanding opportunities for access and participation. Alongside exhibitions, the project includes the development of artist residencies, educational laboratories and workshops, as well as the creation of synergies with cultural institutions and universities in support of scholarly research and the dissemination of knowledge.
The opening of the new season at Sant’Agnese and the future addition of Palazzo Lanza thus outline a unified project: to make the collection increasingly accessible, promote research and cultural production, and consolidate the Foundation’s role as a point of reference for modern and contemporary art.
